Tatsumaki Yosakoi holds rehearsals in Manhattan, Kansas at Kansas State University and in Shawnee, Kansas, right outside of Kansas City.
There are no age limits, no physical requirements, and no dance experience necessary.
We’re a fun-loving community of Japanese culture lovers of all ages and backgrounds.
In Japan, yosakoi is danced by people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. We want to bring the same idea to yosakoi here in the United States. Our goals are to have fun, enjoy some exercise, and deepen our knowledge of modern Japanese culture through the yosakoi lense.
We can teach you what you need to know and performance isn’t a requirement. What we do ask is that if you intend to join the performance team that you are hardworking, team-minded, and dedicated. Putting together performances is a lot of fun but also takes hard work!
